Reflections on Lovingkindness Day 9 of 10: Be The Kindness
It is day 9 of our 10-day lovingkindness journey… It is almost over, yet in some ways, it is only the beginning...
Now that we have experienced several different lovingkindness meditations, it is time to start practicing it to become a state of mind, rather than just an elusive, fleeting momentary experience.
Here’s my takeaway from Sharon’s Day 9 Meditation:
Be The Kindness
In day nine meditation, Sharon invites us to do walking meditation while resting our attention on the phrases of lovingkindness.
I experienced a deep connection to my surroundings as I looked around at the plants, flowers, trees, heard the birds, and felt the cooling evening air on my skin. I could listen to the traffic in the background as a humming noise. I experienced a sort of flow, being present and grounded.
I send lovingkindness to myself and any creature that crosses my path, and I realize I am the kind.
Our ways of creating lovingkindness - we are kindness - we are love.
Within you are endless resources of ways of being that you can choose at any given time. If you want to be loved and people to be kind to you, it begins with you being loving and you being kind.
How often do you expect your children to respect you, listen, and be kind, yet you are not this way to them?
"The transformation from fear to love, from power struggles to freedom, from resistance to flow, begins with you!"
Our true character is not shown in words or actions but in our ways of being and who we are.
It is important to remember you are NOT YOUR PAST, you are NOT YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES, and that you are NOT YOUR LIMITING BELIEFS.
Who you are is up to you! You get to create your character and the way you show up in this world and with your children.
May You BE Safe, BE Healthy, BE Happy and Live with Ease,
Paula
