7 Emotional Needs of Children

Here is the BIG SECRET about kids: They don’t listen because they don’t feel listened to!

As a psychotherapist, I work with a lot of children who don't listen and are flat out defiant. Both kids and parents are
exhausted from power struggles and yelling. There is nothing “wrong" with the child OR the parent, but the problem is that the child’s emotional needs are not met which results in the child acting out in an attempt to  get his developmental needs met.

This 7-part video series is
based on the work of Linda and Ty Hatfield who authored the book “Parent Shift: Ten Universal Truths That Change The Way You Raise Your Kids.”

I put my own “parenting spin” into Linda & Ty’s work which is based on my expertise as a licensed mental hea
lth professional with 20 years of experience working with children and families.

Understanding the emotional world of children will:

  • Help you stop yelling and end the power struggles

  • Decrease defiance and tantrums

  • Create a loving connection with your child

  • Nurture your child’s emotional needs so that they can grow up to be happy, healthy and well adjusted adults
